College of Education Programs

The College of Education includes the Departments of Educational Administration and Foundations and Special Education, the School of Teaching and Learning, the Laboratory Schools (听补苍诲 ), and the Cecilia J. Lauby Teacher Education Center.

The College of Education purposefully develops talented graduates and professionals for the classrooms and schools across the State of Illinois and beyond, building and maintaining meaningful partnerships with school districts, fostering innovative faculty and staff, and maintaining its reputation as a leader in educator preparation.

The College of Education offers graduate degrees that allow teachers, school leaders, and higher educational professionals to enrich and deepen in their own practice, gain new licensure endorsements and certifications, and earn terminal degrees in multiple areas of education. The College offers Master鈥檚 degrees in College Student Personnel Administration, Educational Administration (Principal Prep), Special Education, Low Vision and Blindness, Teaching and Learning, and Reading. The College offers doctoral programs in Higher Education Administration; Leadership, Equity, and Inquiry; P-12 Administration; Special Education; and Teaching and Learning. The College also provides courses for a range of graduate certificate programs including the Superintendent Endorsement, Chief School Business Official, Director of Special Education, LBS 1, Behavior Intervention Specialist, Curriculum Adaptation Specialist, Transition Specialist, English as a Second Language, and Library and Information Specialist.
